Chief Executive and Founder of City Hive

Bhavini ‘Bev’ Shah is the founder and Chief Executive of City Hive, a think tank and advocacy group that works in partnership with companies and grassroots to build an inclusive Investment Management Industry and an equitable and sustainable society.

Shah is a recognised driving force in the movement for change within the Investment Management Industry, championing greater transparency, accountability, and equality in the sector.  A trailblazer and outspoken media commentator, Shah is passionate about engaging with, educating, challenging, and holding the Industry accountable for their ESG responsibilities including diversity.   

She is one of the architects of the ACT corporate culture standard for investment companies.  Having spent her investment career as a fund manager research analyst and multi manager, she has a unique insight into the broader culture of the investment management industry and the ecosystem it operates within.  Prior to founding City Hive, Shah held roles at Aviva Investors, Aviva Life, HSBC Investments and Merchant Securities (Now SanLam Wealth).  She joined the City as an equity trader on the Bear Stearns graduate scheme. 

Bev is also a non-executive director of The Big Exchange. She is on the advisory board of the Government backed City of London socio-economic diversity taskforce.  She is the Values and Culture Guardian for the Guild of Investment Managers.  She has been awarded Freedom to the City of London and recognised for her contribution to the Industry at the Women in Investment Awards.  She is also on the board of Governors for a London Primary School.
