What is the Stewardship Council?

The Stewardship Council is an industry expert group responsible for ensuring the ACT Standard is calibrated to achievable industry practice. It provides oversight of the evolution of the Framework’s maturity to drive firms’ progress and results over time. Members also provide insight into their own practice and their expectations around transparency and accountability.

What is ACT?

  • ACT is a Corporate Culture Standard and disclosure framework, designed to create norms and structure for conversations on culture and values and how they support investment practice. It was created by City Hive to address the gap in guidance and structure on culture.

  • In an increasingly crowded marketplace, the Signatory mark publicly demonstrates and understanding that clients need to consider firm culture when assessing risk and values alignment.

What are the Stewardship Council priorities in 2025?

  1. Supporting ACT Signatory uptake via your advocacy

  2. Uptake of ACT through your own fund research, analyst and manager research teams

  3. Requesting ACT on data platforms and providers

How can I advocate publicly?

  • Publicly share that you are part of the Stewardship Council through your channels, in your bio, in commentary

  • Introduce City Hive to investment firms, policy makers, or possible collaborators in the industry ecosystem

  • Use our script and talking points to reference the importance of culture and the role ACT plays

    Helpful documents and downloads:

What about my own firm?

  1. Ask asset managers about their ACT Signatory Status and year of signing. You can do this on Door, simply via a status check

  2. Ask for asset manager ACT disclosures via Door. Many are already reporting and this reinforces why they should.

  3. Introduce us to colleagues at your firm to hear more about ACT in your process. You can sign up to ACT and monitor % of your externally managed AUM represented by Signatories
